BULVERDE/SPRING BRANCH LIBRARY
A Reading/Literature Program
for Grades 3-6
This after-school program is available to all 3rd - 6th graders whether homeschooled, public schooled, or private schooled.
We use the same list of 20 nominated Texas Bluebonnet Award books that is used across the State in all the registered Texas schools.
The Bulverde/Spring Branch Library's Bluebonnet group meets every other Thursday from 3:30-5:00 p.m. (with one exception) beginning Thursday, September 24 and ending Thursday, January 21 for a total of 8 sessions.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
At least 6 nominated Bluebonnet books will be read in their entirety to the group over the 8 sessions
If your child attends at least 5 of the reading sessions (the middle 6 sessions of our program), this will automatically make your child eligible to vote in the Bluebonnet election in January
Lots of group interaction to increase the enjoyment of your's child's Bluebonnet experience
Lots of fun activities to help deepen your child's understanding of the books we read and of the Bluebonnet program as a whole
"Homework" is not required, but an optional home reading incentive program is offered
Free snacks at each session and a party with awards ceremony (families invited) on Voting Day
